Ambassadors for the National Minority Women's Association in Transportation, Inc. (NMWAIT, Inc.) are vital members of the organization.
Ambassador² NMWAIT are front-line members of leadership who promote positive public relations among the board of directors, personnel, local government, existing and future NMWAIT members, and the general public. Individuals in the committee act as the organization's visible and viable "goodwill arm."
You will be one of the first people new members meet!
An ambassador's major responsibility as an association representative is to ensure that new and existing members have a positive experience.
All members interested in becoming an Ambassador with the National Minority Women Association in Transportation must be in good standing with the organization and fill out an application Request Form. (Below)
What Is the Role of an Ambassador?
Ambassadors are members of the leadership who help NMWAIT, Inc. in marketing the organization to companies, the community, and at association events.. An Ambassador's key responsibilities include projecting a favorable image, volunteering at events, and reaching out to welcome new members.
The following are some examples of ambassador tasks:
What are the benefits of becoming an ambassador?
Being an ambassador is one of the simplest and most enjoyable methods to increase you and your company's visibility. The most important role is to embrace new members and assist them in becoming acquainted with NMWAIT and its advantages.
This is also a good way to form business relationships with other members. Because the job requires helping at events, you will also be seen in the published photos. You'll have the honor of introducing members to one another as well as celebrating new and expanding companies during ribbon cuttings.
If you plan to attend events anyhow, or if you want to improve your business ties, being an ambassador is a no-brainer.
To accomplish the quarterly goals as an NMWAIT, Inc. Ambassador, each Ambassador are encouraged to take on the following responsibilities:
Ambassadors will meet at 7:00 p.m. EST on the fourth Wednesday of each month, remotely to discuss new ventures and future events.
Participation in all Association events is encouraged and valued.
To remain an ambassador, ambassadors must earn a certain number of points each quarter and year. The Ambassador Point Chart may be found here.
Those who do not meet the minimum of two consecutive quarters or for the entire year must sit out the rest of the year, but may reapply the following year.
As an NMWAIT, Inc. Ambassador, you must assume certain duties, follow appropriate business standards in personal behavior, and maintain a high level of personal integrity at all times.
This includes not just genuine respect for others' rights and feelings, but also refraining from any conduct in your company that might be damaging to you, other Ambassadors, other Association Members, the Association, or that could be seen negatively by existing or future Association Members, or by the general public. As an ambassador, your actions reflect on the organization.
As a result, you are urged to maintain the greatest level of professionalism at all times.
The following are only a few of the precise behaviors that are prohibited, although the list is not exhaustive:
Withdrawal
The Ambassador program is termed "At Will."
Any Ambassador may resign from the Ambassador Committee at any time, with or without cause.
Following withdrawal, the Ambassador will no longer be allowed to represent themselves as an Ambassador of the Association in the community.
Removal
The Ambassador Directors shall have the ability to propose the removal of an Ambassador to the Board of Directors.
The Association Board of Directors has the authority to dismiss an Ambassador at any time, with or without cause.
